Day 21 30th April 2011

I was on my way to the bottle bank to dispose of the empties from Royal wedding Part and spotted  a noisy bunch of seagulls mobing this poor heron, he wasn't intimidated though any gulls that were near enough got the sharp end of his beak.

Day 20 29th April 2011 Royal Wedding Day

The Royal Wedding shop party was a great success and Coccuveda looked  very exciting swamped in bunting and balloons. Does anybody recognise the Lady In Red looking through the glass door?

Day16 25th April Easter Monday

Photo today is of the setting up of The Food and Craft Festival marquee down at the Riverside, it is a lovely setting with view of Simonside in the background , look how still and calm the river looks, it is not always like this.

Day 15 24th April Easter Sunday

Coccuveda is the subject of today's photo, I have just done the wedding window. The pic as an artistic element to it i,e, the reflection of the Jubilee hall opposite the shop. I don't claim to be a good photographer, I just rely on my trusty little phone and I do like quirky shots.

Day 12 21st April 2011

There is always something calming about watching the river Coquet flow through the steppy stones, I was hoping to take a photo of some wildlife but I don't think the lone fisherman comes in to that category

Wednesday 20 April 2011

Day 11 20th April 2011

In Rothbury we still have an old style telephone box, a visitor told me the other day it doesn't work and neither does T mobile in Rothbury!

Tuesday 19 April 2011

day 10 19th April 2011

Some of Rothbury's beauty is in places not normally seen, do you know where this is/

Monday 18 April 2011

Day 9 18th April 2011

Donkins lamp stands in front of The United reformed church, a lovely 3 arm light was a gift to Rothbury in 1902 by Robert Donkin, it is a pity there are not more of them around

There is always plenty of parking space if you would like a nice shopping trip to Rothbury, Coccuveda in Bridge Street is always a good shop for buying something unusual.

Friday 15 April 2011

Rush hour in Rothbury! What would we do without the good old Arriva Bus service, please don't reduce the timetable!

Thursday 14 April 2011

DAY 5 14th April 2011

This victorian letterbox and the menu are from one of the best places to eat in Rothbury
"The Coquetvale Hotel" It is a shame the menu is too small to read on the photo because it is very tempting!

Wednesday 13 April 2011

Day 4 April 13th 2011

This owl sculpture is carved from the trunk of a beautiful copper beech tree that couldn't quite cope with the weight of the snow on its branches so it came a cropper

Tuesday 12 April 2011

The river Coquet is the subject of todays photo, I was hoping to snap a dipper or some ducklings but only some daddy ducks and a seagull were about at 9.30am

Monday 11 April 2011

April 11th 2011

Day 2
Not such a bright and sunny Rothbury as yesterday a bit of a grey start to  Monday but by afternoon it was sunny again, I did think about re-doing photo but grey days are okay too.
